Many believe gun violence is a huge part of many deaths. Others beg to differ, what do you think? Should guns be banned or not.The United States has about 393 to 500 million firearms. In 2023 nearly 47,000 people died due to gun-related injuries. People who have survived develop PTSD. Exposure to a gun, witnessing it or even hearing about it can be highly traumatic.
Lawrence, an educator from the Bronx, believes we need to be less strict on gun laws, but the access of getting a firearm would become more stricter because imagine if everybody could be able to carry a firearm and self defense laws were more reasonable somebody steps into your property or a break in you should be able to use your firearm without any consequences. For example he claims, “if everyone can carry a firearm nobody else would wanna cause any problems because if everyone has one what can you really do?”
According to “Pew Research Center” 58% of Americans favor stricter gun laws, another 26% believe the laws are about right ,and the other 15% favor less strict laws.
